Joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH)

 ,
Thank you for your continued patronage of Hotel Chorakukan.
We are pleased to announce that Hotel Chorakukan has joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).

Hotel Chorakukan is a boutique hotel that utilizes the Western-style Chorakukan (designated a National Important Cultural Property), built in 1909 as a guesthouse by Kyoto-born businessman Kichihei Murai, as its main building, and has guest rooms equipped with modern comforts in an annex.

SLH is an international hotel collection of more than 600 independent luxury hotels in over 90 countries, selected only for their uniqueness and high level of hospitality.
The hotel's unique space, which retains the design of its original building, incorporating architectural styles from around the world, and the tranquil stay experience and attentive hospitality of its six rooms, as well as the culinary experience that harmonizes the climate of Kyoto with French traditions, have been highly evaluated and led to the hotel's admission to SLH.
Chorakukan is the only place in Japan where a guest house that welcomed distinguished guests from Japan and abroad during the Meiji period (1868-1912) still exists as an important cultural property, retaining its original design, and is being used as a hotel.

Hotel Chorakukan's vision is "the one and only Kyoto that fascinates the world.
We will continue to inherit the history and culture of Kyoto, while offering our guests from all over the world a special stay experience that can only be realized here.

We would like to ask for your continued warm support.
