Art Festival 2025] Marriage Event [Sunday, September 28, 2025

To express our gratitude for your patronage, we will hold the "Art Festival in CHOURAKUKAN 2025" on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
This year's theme is "Japanese and Western Kyoto". We will be presenting a variety of events that shed light on the architecture, foodstuffs, and art that live and breathe in Kyoto.
Enjoy a moment of art unique to Chorakukan, where the thoughts of chefs, artists, and future cultural leaders intersect.

The "Mariage Event" is a food and drink event that is open to the public on the day of the Art Festival.
The event will be held on the same day as a special drink such as hard cider from Sanovasmith, craft beer from Kyoto Brewery, Madeira wine from Vinhos Barbate, matcha from Japanese tea specialty store Ippodo Tea Shop, and more!Special Talk "Kusagui Nakahigashi and Chizuru Ohara - Kyoto's Food Culture - Japanese and Western EncountersThe "marriage" will be a combination of "finger foods" specially created by the two speakers and small confections made by Chorakukan's patissier.

On the day of the event, please use the drink voucher (1 voucher = 500 yen) and exchange it for the menu of your choice at each booth in the venue.
Purchase your drink voucher with admission ticket in advance for a smoother experience.

 This year, we will be serving a special finger food with a fresh keg of "hachimari-san".
   

Mariage Events

                Drink voucher with admission ticket II ¥1,500 (with 2 tickets x ¥500)
          [Please purchase an admission ticket (from ¥1,000) and a drink voucher of the desired amount separately.
    Drink vouchers are sold in units of ¥500 on the day of the event. Please purchase drinks at each booth with drink vouchers.

Hard cider Son of the Smith

  • Hard cideries are made by fruit farmers in Nagano Prefecture who grow their own apples in their fields and face the challenge of making "good drinking apples".
    The casks we offer are a combination of granny smith, mountain-grown sal pear, and lime tree honey, and are made using traditional methods combined with the latest fermentation technology.
    At the Art Festival, the dishes will be served along with finger foods designed by Hisao Nakahigashi, the owner of Kusokui Nakahigashi.

Craft Beer Kyoto Brewery

  • Established in 2015. A brewery in Kyoto that produces "Belgian x American" style beers.
    At the Art Festival, a special opening of a cask of the popular "Hakaregisan" draft was held.
    The menu will be accompanied by finger foods designed by cookery expert Chizuru Ohara to match the flavors.

Madeira Wine Vinhos Barbate

  • Bual 10 year old wine from Vinhos Barbeito, a prestigious winery on Madeira Island, Portugal.
    It has a dense yet light acidity and a nutty aroma.
    The menu will be a marriage of finger foods created by Hisao Nakahigashi and Chizuru Ohara.

Japanese tea specialty store Ippodo Tea Shop

  • Ippodo Car, a mobile vending car by Kyoto's long-established tea shop "Ippodo Tea Shop," is now available.
    We offer a variety of hands-on fun activities, including a matcha (powdered green tea) making experience and self-serve take-out of Japanese tea.
    Please enjoy with small pastries specially made by Chorakukan patissier.

    ■Sencha green tea & small sweets ¥500 (1 drink voucher)
    Matcha and sencha are available hot or cold.
