Glass Display Rack (Furniture designated as a cultural asset) [Guest room] (Japanese only)

A glass display cabinet in the back of the Guest Room currently houses Meissen dolls and vases.
This display cabinet has been in the same location since its completion and has delighted the eyes of visitors for many years.

The upper shelf is decorated with a bird with its wings spread wide, surrounded by delicate rocaille decorations.
Rocaille, French for "rock" or "shell," is one of the characteristic designs of the Rococo style.
This decoration imitated the irregular, decorative shapes found in nature, and was widely popular in 18th century Europe as a design that stood out for its elegance and delicacy.
It is also the origin of the name of the Rococo style, and is an important element of the glamorous space.
