Stairs to the 3rd floor [Lobby].

While the first two floors of Chorakukan are decorated in the style of Western architecture, the middle three floors and the third floor have Japanese-style spaces.
The distinctive staircase, which divides into left and right sections as seen in the palace, skillfully creates a spatial transition from Western to Japanese style as it leads from the second floor to the third floor.
In front of the stairs is a gold-ground sliding door, the entrance to the tea ceremony room. Looking back, you will see a shoji window with a lacquered high railing. The staircase leads to the Onari-no-Ma, a grand shoin-style Japanese-style room.
